The Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet is a low carbohydrate diet. It is designed to turn your body into a fat-burning machine. By eating the right foods, your body will focus on storing nutrients and burning fat. The number one rule of the Atkins diet is that carbohydrates are bad for you, and only increase your chances of gaining weight.

Flour and sugar are prohibited on the Atkins diet considering that they are straight carbs. Instead, you should focus on eating lean cuts of meat, fish and poultry to keep up your energy. As with all diets, moderate exercise is mandatory every day, but the Atkins diet truly focuses on eating the right foods and denying your body of excessive carbohydrates. However, you must ingest 12-15 grams of carbohydrates a day to keep your body energized and exuberant.

Many argue that the Atkins diet is not healthy for you. On the other hand there are arguments that suggest this diet is safe, but in moderation. I would not recommend going onto this diet for an extended period of time. If, after the completion of your researh, you decide that this is the right weight loss method for you, then I suggest not doing it for more than 3 months at a time.
